Rugs Hooking
|
It’s been already said that rugs hooking is a very interesting occupation. If you want to get involved in it, you can not do without some specialized tools. The process of rugs hooking is simple enough to learn, but there are some differences in the fabric, design, and technique that you might apply to rugs hooking.
You may need the following things: A drawing that serves as a pattern, scraps of fabric in colors to suit your pattern, a hook that can be purchased in many stores, scissors, a masking tape, a permanent marker, yarn to match your fabric scraps, a big needle and straight pins at last.
To begin rugs
hooking, cut the fabric into strips that are about 1 inch wide and about 15 inches long. For thicker fabrics like wool, cut the narrower width. For thin fabrics, cut wider strips. You should cut very carefully for less fraying. If you are a beginner, you had better not cut all of the fabric at once, but rather cut several strips at a time until you determine if the width you have cut is suitable for rugs hooking. hooked rugs
